Job Description

Internship details

  • Duration: 6 months

  • Start date: January 2027 (flexible)

  • Location: Toulouse

  • Team: EZShield

  • Internship subject: Improve Localization Monitoring Safety Function

  • Compensation: 1000€ gross, tickets restaurant, CSE

Internship Context

The EZShield team is in charge of developing a high integrity Software and Hardware platform to monitor and ensure the safe execution of the self-driving solution of our vehicles.

One of the functions of this platform is to ensure that the Localization of the vehicle is correctly computed and safe to use by the other Safety Functions of the Platform. The goal of this internship is to define and develop new monitoring strategies based on Odometry and IMU to improve the diagnostic coverage of the Localization.

Missions / Responsabilities

Under the supervision of his internship tutor and EZShield technical leaders, the intern will be involved in:

  • Modelization: Modeling localization monitoring strategies based on Odometry and IMU sensors to improve diagnostic coverage.

  • Simulation: Simulating the designed monitoring algorithms in a virtual environment to evaluate behavior and safety performance.

  • Development for a real ECU: Implementing and developing the monitoring software to run on a high-integrity real Electronic Control Unit (ECU).

  • Simulated tests: Running comprehensive simulated tests (such as Software-in-the-Loop/Hardware-in-the-Loop) to verify the system's robustness before deployment.

  • Tests on a real vehicle: Conducting vehicle-level tests on a real vehicle in Toulouse to fine-tune the monitoring parameters and validate the complete safety solution.

Preferred Experience

There is no typical profile at EasyMile, we all come from different backgrounds and that is what makes us strong! Don't hesitate to apply if you are motivated and interested by innovative transportation and technologies.

We are looking for:

  • Student in computer science or embedded software engineering

  • Familiarity with positioning and localization tech (e.g., IMU, GNSS) is a plus

  • Skills: Embedded software, C programming, Python, Git, Linux

  • Soft skills: Team spirit, autonomy, and curiosity

  • Language skills : English and French

Recruitment Process

  • 30 minutes call with a recruitment team

  • Meeting with the team, technical tests 

  • One hour interview with the tutor and a recruitment team
