Job Description

Internship details

  • Duration: 6 months

  • Start date: Flexible, 2027

  • Location: Toulouse, France

  • Internship subject: Network architecture, firewall governance and infrastructure documentation

  • Compensation: 1000€ gross, tickets restaurant, CSE

Internship Context

Join EasyMile’s Backoffice IT team, which operates the workplace infrastructure across our Toulouse sites: office networks, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, VPN, firewalls, identity services, workstations and SaaS applications. The team is strengthening its ownership of an inherited, heterogeneous network and security architecture.

The internship will help the IT team regain a clear, reliable and sustainable understanding of its network and firewall estate. You will contribute to mapping the existing architecture, reviewing configurations and rules, consolidating technical documentation, and identifying pragmatic security and reliability improvements. Your work will produce maintainable architecture diagrams, configuration baselines, documentation and a prioritized remediation roadmap.

Missions / Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the IT Manager, the intern will be involved in:

  • Discover and map the existing network architecture: sites, VLANs, IP addressing, switching, Wi-Fi, internet links, VPNs, inter-site connectivity and critical dependencies.

  • Audit firewall and network-device configurations, including policies, NAT, routing, VPN and administrative access; identify inconsistencies, obsolete rules and exposure risks.

  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation: network diagrams, IP/VLAN plans, firewall-rule inventories, configuration baselines, operating procedures and decision records.

  • Support the definition and execution of prioritized remediation actions, with a focus on security hardening, resilience, observability and operational ownership.

  • Contribute to network monitoring and operational automation, and document incidents and root causes to make the infrastructure easier to operate and evolve.

Preferred Experience

We are looking for:

  • Student in computer science, network and systems engineering, cybersecurity or equivalent.

  • Skills: solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPN and Wi-Fi); interest in firewall administration and security policies; Linux administration; scripting (Python, Bash or similar); technical documentation and diagramming.

  • Soft skills: Team spirit, autonomy, curiosity and a structured, service-oriented mindset.

  • Language skills: Professional French and working English.
