Job Description

Location: Toulouse (31) – 2 days of remote possible

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

The Team: Detection

The Detection team is the "eyes" of our autonomous vehicles. Their mission is to provide high-fidelity environment perception:

  • Obstacle Data: 3D positioning, existence probability, kinematics (static/dynamic), speed, history, and prediction.

  • Object Pose Estimation: Specialized detection for loading docks, containers, and other key assets.

Your Responsibilities

As a Perception Engineer:

  • Algorithm Design: Identify and define advanced detection algorithms using Lidar, Radar, and other perception sensors in collaboration with Tech Leads and Architects.

  • Tech Watch: Stay at the forefront of the state-of-the-art in autonomous driving and perception.

  • Roadmap Support: Assist the Tech Lead in defining the long-term technical vision.

As a Core Team Member:

  • Full Lifecycle: Design, document, implement, and review source code.

  • Validation: Define test plans and validate developments on test benches or directly in the vehicle.

  • Reliability: Ensure support and maintenance of your components from delivery to production (integration, deployment, and run).

  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product Owners on effort estimation, risk monitoring, and architecture compliance.

Preferred Experience

At EasyMile, there is no "typical" profile. We value diverse backgrounds and believe that motivation is the key driver for innovation.

Requirements:

  • Technical Expertise: Extensive experience designing and deploying detection algorithms and multi-sensor fusion (Lidar, Radar, Camera) in production environments.

  • Software Proficiency: High level of skill in C++ and Python, data structures, algorithms, and modern software development methodologies.

  • Background: Master’s or Engineering degree with at least 5 years of R&D experience in the perception industry.

  • Languages: Good proficiency in English, Fluent in French is mandatory

  • Experimental Mindset: Comfortable setting up and evaluating the performance of advanced algorithms and experimentation plans.

  • Soft Skills: High levels of autonomy, team spirit, and strong communication skills.
