Job Description

  • Internship subject: Implement spline trajectory generation and develop corresponding testing tool
  • Internship tutor: Clément Pardon, R&D Engineer

The goal of this internship is to implement a new trajectory generation algorithm. To do so, you will have two main tasks, both related to trajectory generation for the autonomous vehicle:

  • You will use an existing spline computation library to apply it to a specific trajectory generation problem. You will have to choose the best type of spline and the best parameters to fit the objectives in term of computation time and of trajectory acceptability.
  • You will also develop a testing tool that will help you to visualise generated trajectories and relevant KPIs. This tool will not be limited to spline trajectory testing, but will also allow to compare the results of the spline trajectory generation with other trajectory generation algorithms (that are already used in current vehicles). The tool will come with an interface which will make it possible to rapidly try different configurations and make a comparison between results.

The two tasks will be done in parallel during the internship. They are complementary and will be done in an iterative way :

  • The spline generation will help to define the needs for the tools
  • The results given by the tool will help to improve the trajectory generation

We are looking for:

  • Final year internship
  • C++
  • Python
  • Experience with an UI framework, such as Qt, is a plus
  • Prior understanding of spline generation methods is a plus

Recruitment Process
